Makaani is based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. All of our handcrafted teas and body oils are prepared with care under Minnesota Cottage Food Law and other applicable guidelines.

- Teas (Cottage Food Products): We are only able to offer local pickup and local delivery (within 10 miles of Saint Paul) for teas.
- Non-Cottage Food Products (like body oils): These items can be shipped within the United States.

- Deliveries take place on Fridays between 10 AM and 4 PM.
- Orders must be placed by Thursday at 5 PM.
- A $5 flat fee applies unless your total is $50 or more, in which case delivery is free.

Yes! We accept custom orders for both tea blends and body oils.
- A minimum of 11 tea bags is required for any custom tea blend.
- Pricing varies depending on ingredients and formulation.

Many ingredients we use are organic, but not all. What we guarantee is that every ingredient is 100% natural and free from artificial preservatives, synthetic additives, and GMOs.

We offer both caffeinated and naturally caffeine-free options. A Caffeine Reference Guide is included in our catalog and labeled on each product to help you choose blends that best suit your needs.

We use biodegradable tea bags made from corn fiber, which are safe, unbleached, and environmentally friendly. Each tea bag holds about 2.5 tsp of tea.
Our teas are packaged in kraft paper pouches — simple, resealable, and designed to preserve freshness while minimizing waste.

All sales are final. Due to the nature of our products, we do not accept returns.
If an item arrives damaged or incorrect, please notify us within 48 hours (with photos), and we’ll provide a replacement or store credit.

Some blends do contain plant-based natural flavors. These are:
“Carefully derived from plant-based sources, including essential oils, essences, extractives, and distillates of spices, fruits, vegetables, herbs, and botanicals“. They are free from synthetic solvents, artificial preservatives, synthetic emulsifiers, soy, MSG, sewage derivatives, ionizing radiation, and GMOs.”
Teas containing natural flavors are marked with an asterisk (*) in our catalog.

Makaani teas are crafted or packed fresh and sealed in kraft paper pouches. For best flavor, use within 6–9 months. Keep in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture.

 Each tea bag is pre-measured with about 2.5 tsp. You can:
- Hot Brew: Steep 1 tea bag in 8 oz water (200–212°F) for 5–7 minutes.
- Cold Brew: Steep 1 tea bag in 12 oz cold water for 8–12 hours in the fridge.
- Spiced Infusion: Simmer 1 bag in a mix of water and milk with sweetener if desired.

While many of our teas are made with gentle, natural ingredients, not all blends are suitable during pregnancy or nursing. Please consult your healthcare provider before consuming herbal blends while expecting or breastfeeding.

At this time, all Makaani teas are sold in tea bags only for convenience, freshness, and consistency.

Yes. We offer custom tea blends that can be requested to support general wellness goals or seasonal needs.
While we don’t offer personalized labels or celebration-themed packaging, you’re welcome to order multiples of your favorite blends for gifting to loved ones — packaged in our standard kraft pouches.
